Mission statement
The Safe Spot, a diversion and prevention program of Tommy the Clown Foundation,
gives youth ages 13–17 a safe, structured, and joy-filled place to become who they were
created to be. Rooted in the original spirit of Krump — raw expression channeled into
discipline and purpose — we combine performing arts, one-on-one mentoring,
leadership development, STEM, life skills, and family stability support to divert young
people away from the streets, gangs, and justice system, and move them toward self-
sufficient, thriving adulthood — one relationship at a time.

Every young person in our community has a safe spot to land between the hours that matter most —
the hours after school and before dark — and leaves with the skills, credentials, relationships, and
confidence to build a self-sufficient life.

Every teen who walks through the door touches all eight of these creative, academic, social, and practical, on consistent weekly rotation
performing arts
Dance, krump, theater, spoken word and music rooted in Tommy's original model.

Leadership development, emerging entrepreneur curriculum and social-emotional learning.
teen certification
CPR and Stop the bleed certification opportunities that give teens practical credentials.
mentoring
One-on-one mentoring with screened community volunteers and community leaders
college + career
FASFA support, resume building, internship connections and guest speakers.
stem + academics
Hands-on STEM enrichment, tutoring support, technology access and community-connected learning.
diversion + prevention
Creative alternatives designed to divert youth from gang and justice-system involvement.
FAMILY STABILITY
Coordination with His Daughter's House to connect families with housing and food support when needed.

ENROLL A TEEN
Ages 13-17 welcome
Monday-Friday, 3-7 PM.
Walk in or call to start an enrollment packet.
BECOME A MENTOR
Screened community volunteers and leaders are matched one-on-one with youth. Training provided.

Schools, probation, and community organizations:
